Tips for Buyers and Sellers

BUYERS
- Figure out what you can afford, get pre-approved for a loan.
- Make a list of what features you must have/would like to have in a home.
- Figure out where you would like to live.
- Save for down payment, closing and mortgage costs.
- Clean up any credit issues if possible to make your credit as good as possible.
SELLERS
- Curb appeal is critical! If the home doesn’t look appealing from the curb, some people won’t even bother to see what’s inside! Keep plants trimmed, pick up debris, make the entry inviting.
- DE-CLUTTER your home! Space is often a factor in selecting a home. Eliminating or reducing clutter can make your home appear more open and spacious.
- Clean, clean, clean. Particularly kitchen and bathrooms but don’t forget floors, windows and walls.
- DO the small repairs.
- Get estimates for large ticket items you know may show up as a problem in a home inspection.
- Collect warranties, instruction manuals, etc.
